Appointment time not honored

On December 2, 2016, I took my car to the Dunn Tire on Bridge Street in East Syracuse to have a new set of tires installed. I arrived 15 minutes early for a service appointment that I had made on line.

When I made the appointment, I indicated that I would be waiting for the tires to be installed on my car. Long story short, my car wasn't even taken into the service bay until 50 minutes after my appointment time.

The cars of walk-in customers took priority over my car, and I had an appointment. If your time is valuable to you, don't make a service appointment for this Dunn Tire location.

Dunn Tire - Tire Rotation Review from Auburn, New York

Two weeks ago I took my wife's Honda Odyssey into the Clay NY location for a tire rotation. I settle into the waiting room for about a half hour. I'm called up that the van is ready. They never even rotated the tires. I had a marked on one of the sidewalls with chalk and it was in the same place! I went back in and told the service writer what I did and how that tire was never rotated. They took it back in the service area and did the rotation and more.... The next day the rear brakes started smelling like they were burning. Super hot wheel as well. I could not figure out what was going in so I took it to my mechanic. He figured it out. When they brought the van back in the Dunn mechanic must have crimped my rear brake lines so the caliper would not retract. Beware. They don't do the free rotations. And when u call them out on it they damage your vehicle. It cost me $600 to diagnose and repair the damage they did. Jim

Was immediately contacted by Scott from Dunn. And he was really concerned by my complaint.

He revived video footage and did conclude the tires weren't rotated. However I was incorrect stating the brake hose was crimped. There was no video proof of this happening

It's nice to see a company act so fast to resolve any issues that customers might have.

I apologize for any inconvenience or bad word of mouth.

Made a on-line appointment. I was told they were too busy and to make another appointment about two weeks out. No communication letting me know. Pointless to make a appointment as they are first come, first served. Will not go back. Lots of completion out there.

Never goto Dunn Tire for State Inspection

I am writing this review because I am honestly confused how they have any 5 star reviews. This location is awful.

My wife went to have an inspection performed on her Honda CRV and they failed it due to sway bar links. I have read the reviews and knew of this trend and couldn't believe they were pulling the same deal on me. Upon questioning him, the manager became extremely irate and practically threw a pen at me to sign the papers to get my vehicle back.

He then asked me to "never come back"

Honestly if this were my business is would not employ individuals like him. I am going to take his suggestion and never come back, but I will also urge my friends and family to do the same.

Jamestown Dunn sucks. Went there on a flat tire because I payed the extra $ because that's really all they want when getting tires. The *** told me it would be 2 hours until I could get it fixed. There was nobody in the work area and only one appointment for new tires. He was an *** and treated me like I didn't matter until I asked the only service tech why I couldn't get my flat patched and the service man told me that he wasn't busy and it would only take 10-15 minutes. I went back inside to talk to my favorite person and he pulled me aside as if I was the problem and told me to calm down so he could talk to me. He lost that rite as I began to tell him how it is and how it should've been. There was no apology and I will never go to Dunn tire again for anything except to replace my tire that are warrantied for everything for 3 years. Maybe I will have an accident and get all 4 of my tires replaced on Dunn tires extra service plan. *** *** know nothing about being a good human being or doing the proper things after they receive your $. Typical bottom line entitlement *** that's ruining this country. DO NOT BUY FROM DUNN BECAUSE THEIR SERVICE IS ALL LIES AND ALSO ALL THEY WILL DO IS LIE TO YOU WITH THEIR BIG HEADS AND TELL YOU " I've done this for over 20 years and you think I know a little bit more about tires than the you ." They also treat everyone like idiots until you show your cards and they find out you're not a dummy. *** Dunn tire and everyone with a big lying head. I know the few ruin it for the good honest guys and I'm sorry but Dunn tire will be closed or out of business in Jamestown very soon unless they change their dishonest, lying, cheating, ***, big headed, entitled ways.

After arriving and waiting for appointment, find out tires are 11 years old.

I told these people that I had 2 cars that I wanted snow tires on. a 1996 land cruiser and a 2005 santa fe. they told me that day that they could put tires on one of them (santa fe). they proceeded to install the tires on the first car. they immediately informed me that they would make an effort to obtain tires for the land cruiser. a few hours later I was told they would be ready for installation in two days. two days later, not long after they opened, I called and inquired about the tires which they said they had. my appointment was for 1 o'clock and I was early. they told me the installation would take about an hour. I went to a nearby store for a half hour and my car still had not moved. a little while later, at 1:42, my car was brought in. a few minutes later, I was called to the front desk and given bad news. THE TIRES THEY HAD FOR ME WERE ELEVEN YEARS OLD! they were made in 2004. apparently, one store shipped these OLD tires to another store and hoped to sell them. I can appreciate that they actually caught the discrepancy before they installed the tires, because I am sure that tire places sell old tires to unsuspecting customers every day, sometimes accidentally, and sometimes deliberately. how many customers check the age of the tire before they drive away? a driver can be killed by a faulty tire on the first drive. the manager tried to offer me a discount on the old tires which I politely rejected. he told me that my tires were an unusual size, so finding a match is difficult, and that I would have to either go with the old tires or a slightly different size which I also rejected. I told them that they have a few days to acquire the correct size and age of tire or I would go elsewhere. I won't say that they were rude, but I did drive there, wait over an hour, and drive home for nothing. a repeat customer is not supposed to do that. I checked the age of the santa fe tires. I am able to say that at least 2 of the tires are less that a year old, but two had the vin facing inward, so I am not sure of their manufacture date.

I had my car serviced ,the tires they put on in around Dec ,they are all ready worn down .I paid 600 I have had flats with the back they used plugs and it was slowly leaking ," no one called me in to rotate them or anything ,I do not think this is good buniess ,". How can I talk to someone that can handle this .

So.... Swapping summer/winter tires takes 6 f....ing hours?

Second time this happened to me with these jokers.... lost my car key took 30 minutes to find it, AFTER THEY TOOK SIX HOURS TO SWAP MY TIRES. I could do it myself in less than three hours (sarcasm). What incompetence. only after I talked with the supposed regional manager, who after grungingly offered free oil change, when I asked how long will THAT take, 3 or 4 hours? Did he offer me $25 out of the $65 they charge for this *** service. There was an excuse for everything.. We're busy today... You must have lost the key yourself sir, you don't have the proper lug nuts, no, we sell tires, but we don't sell lug nuts.... Turns out they put the wrong lug nuts on my car. What imbeciles!!! I hope they go out of business. They were such smarmy jerks the whole time. I asked them if they lost my keys on purpose, and they laughed. Tacked on another 1/2 hour looking for them, the whole time saying that I must have lost it. Plus they don't lock your doors in the parking lot. Unbelieveable....

So i called corporate n of course got voicemail.. Then the district manager calls me n tells me ge talked to the manager jeff first n jeff told him that i was friends with the people that work there n a bunch of bs tryin to take any blame off himself..

This company is so unprofessional.. I know one person there n none of this is their fault..

Its management! They said they would call me right back to schedule another alignment but nothing yet..

Horrible n dishonest.. I did a alignment check because my front drriver side was popping bad n they looked at it n said no it can be aligned n there was nothing wrong.. So i paid 80.00 to get it aligned.. Well shortly after it got worse n i took it back n they said yes ur lower ball joints bad n to replace it n bring it back for the warranty.. So i did.. Well this morning the manager jeff at peach st was very rude n unprofessional n told me he will not aligned it because I replaced parts on it n i explained that this was the reason i brought in the first place n i was told the cars fine.. N then i took it to a garage n it wasnt.. Then took it back to his store n was also told the balljoint was very bad n to bring it back.. He didnt care n got ignorant n walked away... I will never go back n i will tell everyone never to go there!

I rather not i was told by the store i can only talk to the district manager theres no one higher n the district manager called the store b4 he called me n that manager jeff made up stuff so theres no point if i gotta talk to the same person again.

Car Battery Review

Sitting here waitin y got my car done here yesterday 4 new tires and battery.over 500 dollars . Gave a defective battery. Now there they tried to install wrong battery 45 min later u am I still waitin ridicules

Wrong tire

After a nail in the side wall Dunn shows in the computer the tech should have put on the correct make, model & size but the tech put on a different model/size and now I have to pay for (4) new tires because they SUCK!!! Took car in for a rotation car was finished and sat for 15 mins before I went to see if my car was done stated oh yeah we forgot left with car got 1 block my dummy light came on low tire pressure woke up in the a.m to a flat tire! Response I got from the idiots that work there was there's no way from just a rotation well guess what I did nothing different except took it to you for a simple rotation!

Wrong on so many levels

I went online to shop for tires and ended up on Dunn Tires. After plugging in Make/Model/Trim etc and putting in Henrietta as the location, I picked out a set for $80.98 (90.98 with "out the door pricing") each. I then called the shop, verified they had the tires and that they would fit my vehicle then made a 5 PM appointment to have two tires put on. I got to the shop at 4:42 PM. They had a line for Appointments and another for Walk-ins. At least 3 walk-ins all were helped before anybody got around to talk to me around 5:10. Then they checked my appointment and said it was for 4 tires, not 2 and a completely other brand and make of tire. I told him I only wanted 2 and they proceeded to try and talk me in to the 4. Once we'd established I was only getting two, no matter what he said, I gave him my keys and sat down in the waiting room. At 5:50 I went out to the parking lot and noticed my car had not moved. I went back in and asked how long until someone looked at my car since my appointment was for 5. The manager went out to the garage and then came back and told me it would be going in 5-10 minutes. In the meantime, all those walk-ins had their cars taken care of before mine had been even looked at. At 6:40 the manager came back out and told me the computer had made a mistake and that wasn't the correct size tire and they didn't have the ones I had asked for in stock in that size. They had another that was a little more expensive but they'd give them to me at the same price. At this point I've already invested 2 hours into getting these tires and I live in a small town 40 minutes away., so I said fine. At 7:18 I finally was told the car was ready. I got my key and the bill, which was somehow $35 more than the price quoted. Still, because at that point I just wanted to be done with them, I paid the extra without a huge scene, got into my car and pulled out. Once I actually could see the floor of the passenger seat I noticed 3 of my hubcaps lying there. After having my car for 2 1/2 hours, blowing me off to help others without an appointment and bait-and-switching what I'd requested, the final insult was being too lazy to actually put back on 3 of the 4 hubcaps. They weren't busy. In the 2 1/2 hours I was there, they had about 8 customers come in. There was no excuse. I would not recommend the Dunn Tire in Henrietta, NY to anyone at all. Despite the attempts of the manager (which I do appreciate), the lack of professionalism, hard-sell tactics and general laziness has made sure I will never go back there again and I will be telling everyone for the next decade to avoid the store like it had the plague.

As a follow-up, less than one week later now my right rear strut/shock is making noise and feels loose. I'm having my regular, trusted mechanic look at it today.

So, not only did they screw up the tires and my appointment, now it appears they also did damage to my car.

Condescending, augmentative, rude manager.

Had a few days off the week of May 19-23rd so phoned May 16, 2014 to make appointment to *** Winter tread, put on all season, which I purchased at Dunn. My appointment was for 12:30 on 5/22/14, I arrived 10 mins.

late at 12:40 PM. The manager told me I was 40 mins late as my appointment on paper was 12:00. I denied this as he continued to argue with me. My only recourse he offered was a hour & a half minimum wait which I informed I could not do because of a M.D.

appointment at 2 PM. To make a long story short, appointments are not honered, I was treated very rudely, even laughed at when I said I drove 30 miles one way to get there by Manager Gerry Wilke of Batavia office. I'm driving around ruining my Winter tread on hot pavement. I'm leery of trying to make another appointment & have concerns about safety with such a malevolent manager as he is!

I've been a steady customer for more than 10 yrs., but I think this partnership will have to end. Perhaps Dunn should have customers evaluate their experience each time to monitor rogue managers!!

I had some suspension parts replaced a few years ago in henrietta store. I questioned why the parts were so expensive.

The service manager said they are moog pays and they're top of the line. I did my research and found that they are among the best.

A few months later when the weather warmed up i get under and look and none of the tie rods or ball joints were moog. That was the last tim i did business with them.

Battery

I contacted Dunn Tires on Saturday June 6/22/13 located at 7992 Brewerton Rd Cicero, NY (315) 698-**** ( this location is closer to my home)in order to get pricing for a battery replacement for my 2007 BMW 750LI and this women answers the phone I gave her my info she put me on hold for about 10 mins. She then came back on the phone and stated mam this not be a good place to handle this matter.

I then contacted Dunn Tires the same day located at 5830 Bridge St East Syracuse(315) 446-**** I gave the gentlemen my info he called me back with a quote and got me in at 2pm on that same day. I'am a American Car Care credit card holder.I have never known any business that does not want a customers business who turns customer away.Thank god about 4 years ago my son was a previous customer of the East Syracuse location he advised me to contact that location and I did They were great and they should be rewareded how they treat there customers specially the gentlemen that set me up.
